How do you reduce a song by one ocatve in audacity?

Im performing in our school's summer concert and need a backing track. Im singing my song an octave lower but don't know how much i need to lower the pitch by in audacity? Any help please? How do you reduce a song by one ocatve in audacity?
According to Wikipedia:

"...the octave is divided into 12 semitones (see musical tuning). These semitones are usually equally spaced out in a method known as equal temperament."

This means you should lower the pitch by 12 semitones.

Hope this helped you.
