How to split one sound track into two using Audacity?

I need to physically cut a large sound file into two separate files. As I cannot upload one big file onto the internet.

If you mean cut it into two parts in the middle, follow these steps.

1. Open the file twice

2. Delete up to a point in the first one, and then delete the other half in the other window.

3. Then Export Both.

Tip: Use the time bar to get an exact cut.
