How do you save whatever you record on the latest Audacity beta?

When I save whatever I recorded on Audacity, it acts as if I never recorded anything and just saves the unmixed tracks together. I hit record, the tracks begin playing, and I put them on solos, mute, etc, until its over, then when I save it as a project it acts as if I never used solos or mute. I've heard to click export as WAV, MP3, or whatever, but that option doesn't show up.How do you save whatever you record on the latest Audacity beta?
You need Lame to save as an mp3 file..

http://lame.sourceforge.net/

Follow the instructions in the help files to install it:

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/

(FAQs, documentation and Wiki help)

Installing Lame:

The export function is on the "file" menu - "File / Export / select file type to export too from the "save as type" drop down list on the new window which opens.

If saving to mp3 format click on "options" in this new window to select the bitrate.
