As incredible as it sounds, you actually can use a set of headphones for a microphone.
No, you can't.

You need a microphone or some kind of speaking thing that's connected to your computer, laptop, mac etc. Get some sort of headset or something, audacity isn't the best recording software but it's good for beginners or newbies. Good luck bud!

Sorry but you question does not make sense. It's a little like asking if you can make a phone call without a phone. You need a microphone to record anything.outside of your system, Just go buy one, you can get them for about $5.00 or barrow one from a Friend. LapTops normally have microphone built in. If you know someone with a laptop, ask them if you can make a voice recording. Can you record your voice on audacity without a microphone?
Hey, do you want to record the screen audio? If so I recommend you Camersoft Audio Recorder. it can record any voice of computer. Here it is the download page

Just try it for free
The software isn't that important - but you do need some way for the sound you make to be picked up by the computer. For that, you need a microphone of some sort. A gamer headset can have a microphone. Most laptops have microphones. But without an input device, the software doesn't matter.

Once you have the microphone, audacity can record it - as can the Sound recorder utility that's bundled with Windows.
Hardly.
I am tempted to say: "Yes, sure you can, just yell loudly into the screen, and your computer will record it for you, but you probably wont hear anything back".

But, no, you will need a recording hardware attached to the computer. As the other post stated, you can use a set of head phones or earbugs and plug it into the microphone jack, then yell very loudly into the ear pieces while recording, you can even record in stereo if you space the two earpieces apart on both side of your mouth while you yell at them.

    2. Thank you for doing this! I am newer into looking for these types of specs and stuff therefore I'm still learning the facts of the audio world. However I was on the fence regarding dropping the money for this mic but you've helped me away! I actually will use two of all those different recording modes which means this was very helpful! hyperx quadcast
