if your doing it from an imported song, it could be very hard, but i'd experiment with the EQ and stuff, you can remove everything that's panned to the center (usually vocals) with the vocal remover. if your recording a band, then i would record the separate instrument one at a time to a click, drums, the bass, then guitar, then vocals, then backing vocals. this way you can treat them separately

How can I separate a bass track, guitar track, vocal track, etc. in Audacity when I only have one mic input?
