Audacity!?!?

Does anyone know how to use Audacity? I downloaded it, but I dont know how to use it. I have the songs downloaded off of Limewire.....so how do I transfer them from there. Give me every little detail on how to use this as you can.

If you want Audacity to be able to read, write and manipulate MP3 files then you have to get the LAME library. LAME is a software library that has routines for handling MP3 files.



You can get the LAME library from http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/



= Download the version of LAME that you need for your version of Audacity.



= Unzip the downloaded file. This should extract a file called lame_enc.dll



= Copy this file somewhere maybe into the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 directory or into the Audacity home directory.



= Open a WAV sound file in Audacity, and then save it using "Export as MP3"



= Audacity will ask where the lame_enc.dll file is located. Browse for it and select it.



= Finish the export, close Audacity, delete the exported mp3 file if you want and then restart Audacity. It should now be able to load and save files in MP3 format.
