Audacity??

i got this mixing program called audacity and whenever i try to import a track on there to mix it, i just get this wierd static instead of the song when i play it. anyone know what i can do to import tracks and get the actual sound from the track??Audacity??
For audacity, the file type has to be the correct type because some types are not compatible. Also it will NOT import copy-protected audio. Make sure you have a Lame FE program installed as well (check download.com). If all else fails, if your using Windows XP you can use audacity to record what you hear from your computer's speakers by selecting "Stereo Mix" in the source field and play what your are trying to import in a media player. It doesn't let you do it if your using Vista. Good luck.
