Audacity - How to record what is playing through my soundcard?

With the audio editing programme Audacity - How do i record what is playing through my soundcard instead of through my microphone on my laptop? Where do i go to in the settings options?|||At the top right of the default layout when Audacity is first installed is a drop down list to select the recording input..

Select "stereo mix" or "what you hear" (depends on soundcard).

Click record button then start playback.

If you have Vista this list could be grayed out so try this:

Vista: Click Start%26gt; Control Panel. Select Manage Audio Devices in the Sound Section.

Click the Recording Tab and if the Stereo Mix Option is missing right-click on an empty part of the window and left-click on Show Disabled Devices. Right-click on the icon and select Enable. This will enable recording of sound coming through your speakers.|||Record Audio Playing Through Your Speakers on Windows 7: http://nchsoftware.blogspot.com/2010/04/鈥?/a>
