What's the best music editing program besides audacity?

I have tried audacity and searched for other programs but can't find the one I'm looking for. Audacity's format is not compatible with windows movie maker and I need one compatible with windows movie maker. Please make full answers if you can and do the best you can. Have you tried Sony Soundforge? The audio editing program is pretty solid and it allows you to use many different effects and clear up your audio. It's also PC based, so you shouldn't have a problem getting it to work with Windows Movie Maker.
