How can i make songs that have the chipmunk voice without using Audacity?

i want to know how to make songs using the effect like alvin and the chipmunks. i have tried using audacity but that program isnt very efficeintHow can i make songs that have the chipmunk voice without using Audacity?
You put the song in audacity (if u don't know how to do that u just left click the song and go to open with and go to audacity) and you go into effects and click on "change pitch" i suggest you use 12 semitones or a whole octave up, in order to keep it in the same pitch, just a a lot higher.How can i make songs that have the chipmunk voice without using Audacity?
I do just the voices using audacity ind it sound pretty good. it's probably because you were using the pitch change thing. get the beta version of it from the site and go to sliding time/pitch shift scale and put in -50 for both initial and end tempo change then after it's done (it'll take a while) speed it up 100. do that on the acapella and make sre you have the instrumental on another track and line them up and there you go. =)
